What Is Diatomaceous Earth?

Diatomaceous Earth (DE) is the fossilized remains of Diatoms - a microscopic hard shelled type of algae, which collect over time in what are now dry lake beds. These lake beds are mined, and the diatoms are ground into a fine powder, which is known as Diatomaceous Earth. DE contains important minerals such as silica - which is vital for good health.

What Does Diatomaceous Earth Do?

Food Grade Diatomaceous Earth has a multitude of useful applications.

Its unique structure allows for it to be a great natural pest and insect killer, (including parasitic intestinal worms).  It gently cleanses the digestive system, and promotes healthier bones, teeth, skin, hair and nails!

Because DE has a strong charge, it naturally binds to harmful things in the body such as chemicals, viruses, bacteria, heavy metals and positively charged free radicals, and helps to expel them from the body. Its abrasive nature also assists with the detoxification process, gently "scrubbing" the digestive system clean.

Its strong sharp structure (sitting 2 points below the hardness of a diamond) allows it to puncture insects' exoskeleton, causing the insects and parasites to dehydrate and die, while humans and animals are left completely unharmed.

Food Grade DE has been recognised as safe for human and animal consumption.

NB! It is very important to only use FOOD GRADE Diatomaceous Earth for human and animal use. Other industrial grades may be hazardous to your health.
